As we move closer to the end of 2011, we will find ourselves looking back at a year many of us wish never happened for so many reasons. Many of us have lost jobs, homes, friends and family members in the tragedies of 2011.

Christmas will be a tough time for many of us as we have our first Christmas without our loved ones. I hope for those that have suffered a loss of a loved one, that you celebrate the life of your loved one and remember them with passion and love.

As part of my personal grieving process, Janice and I have started our annual 'Christmas Home' decorating. This year we shall be opening up our home during December for a gold coin donation to the CTV Family Trust.

We hope to be able to provide something special for the children of those lost in the CTV building collapse. Janice and I mourn the loss of 20 friends and family in the February earthquakes, and we send our love to their friends and family members.

We will post details of the open homes once we are ready to throw open the doors.
